“Changing” the format for my videos
So going over the statistics of my video over the last few months, I realize I should try to change up a little bit. The summer really affected me since I really only made 1 official scripted video. The writers block really killed me. Of course, when the semester starts at school, I get a huge burst of a bunch of ideas… right when my time is crunched with college!
Now, I am thinking, instead of sticking to just scripted videos, I will add a variety of different videos. I am not talking about vloging (unless it’s the QnA videos). But a whole range of different funny videos. This may take me in a slightly new direction and/or improve with my channel. I will always make skits, so they will not go away.
What I am talking about is super shorts with a funny punch line, public videos where I do something outrageous, music related videos, skits done in a different approach then my usual stuff, and so on…
Skits take a lot longer time to make. So instead of taking awhile to write, direct, act, edit, and putting out the video, I can create the same effect by releasing various styles of videos in a quicker fashion. I have plenty of new ideas written down which are slightly different from what I usually do.
So the basic thing I am stating is that I am going to keep my channel “fresh”. Instead of just focusing on scripts I have a range of things I can put out that will be just as good or better. It is something to keep my channel alive and fun. This means more videos too, instead of just putting out 1 video a month. I guess I just felt that I couldn’t step away from my usual formatted videos. I will of course will put out regular comedy scripts too. This “change up” should be fun and I am looking forward to it.
I am almost done filming the Halloween video, which is one of my regular like video. So keep a look out for that!
Wonderful Damian! The only real complaint I’ve had about you is that you barely post any videos. I know you’re busy with college and all that. And although I love your skits, I miss your old random videos, like the Insane Series and such. And Sleep Tourettes has been on my favourites for a while. Btw, I recently began making YouTube videos, the humour is rather similar to yours, lile random crazy stuff. Except I’m not some “insane wanna-be”, I’ve been a retard ever since I can remember. From first grade and on. So if you have any time, would you PM me over YouTube some tips and stuff? Like camera angles, and editing and such. I unfortunately don’t have the luxury of a Mac, so a I’m stuck with Adobe Premier. I’m working on a retarted music video right now, but I wrote out a script for a skit.
